all hopped up

This weekend Dean and I made our first batch of home brew beer.

It's really amazingly simple to do and feels like a science experiment - there are glass tubes and strainers and this:

I think that's yeast from the bottom of the barrel?  But you better believe I wasn't sticking my hand in it.

  2. My husband brews his own beer too. Word of warning: It's addictive!

He loves the science in it. He also loves how he can add things to give it a different flavor.

Have fun! Can't wait to hear how it turns out.

We used St. Peter's IPA kit, which is only available in England (I think?). Still beginners ourselves! But can't wait to get more creative with it. We'll have to see how the first batch turns out!
